Meet the team
Transcending the holistic vision of athletes through the connection of sport to what's next.
We're all about a culture shift. We're about the shift in the ideology of sport. We're about creating better people and better athletes.
Shaka Fonderson is the founder of Beyond The Game. Born in Liberia, Shaka moved around the continent of Africa before his family moved to Canada when he was 10 years old. Moving from country to country and having to adapt to different cultures, really instilled a love for people in Shaka. As many kids do, he played a multitude of sports growing up and learned so much through it. He fell in love with the game of football and played from age 13 until 25. Through high school, university, and semi-professional football, he competed and learned from many coaches and teammates. Sport is an amazing vehicle to learn about oneself, and Shaka's mission is to help all athletes do just that.

Trevon McNeil is a former McMaster University basketball player and current personal trainer. As someone whose entire identity was once defined by basketball, he is able to relate to elite athletes with large dreams. Basketball was a sport that allowed him to travel the world. Beyond The Game represents a voice for those who realize their worth is defined by more than just the number on their jersey. Trevon is here to show that.
Aaron Grant, born in Scarborough, but raised in Oakville played football at a high level between the ages of 10 and 22, culminating his playing career with the Mount Allison University Mounties. Football was a large part of Aaron's life, as was sales. He is able to use his communication and leadership skills as a Brand Ambassador for Downtown (Toronto) Porsche while also being part of the Beyond the Game team. He is passionate about giving back to the youth and the sport that has made a large impact on his life.
